7-Day Mexico Conservation Project

7-Day Mexico Conservation Project - Tortugas

Many volunteers on Teaching, Care, Culture & Community, Medicine, Journalism, Animal Care or Spanish placements in Mexico enquire about spending a few days on the Pacific coast at our conservation project.

This project offers a unique chance to help protect the endangered sea turtles which nest on the beaches and also to participate in important reptile and bird conservation activities.

This project can only be done in combination with one of our other Mexico projects.

We are now able to offer all Mexico volunteers the opportunity to add a 7-day conservation project to the end of their main placement. This project runs for a full week and gives you the chance to become involved in a range of work. On arrival volunteers are given a full introduction to the projects and local area, and then spend the week working on the same schedule as regular and more experienced volunteers.

7-Day Mexico Conservation Project - Turtles Mexico

Projects currently include beach patrols to collect the turtle eggs, re-burying them in a safe area, releasing the baby turtles into the sea, wildlife observations from the lagoon and work on our crocodile conservation program.

The cost of this program is $695 which includes food and accommodation for the week, insurance, and transport to and from Guadalajara or Ciudad Guzman.

To add this project to your time in Mexico, please contact your local recruitment office before you go or speak to a member of our staff in Mexico.
