7-Day Peru Conservation Project

7-Day Peru Conservation Project - Canopy Observations

Many volunteers on Teaching, Care, Culture & Community, Medicine & Healthcare, Sports or Spanish placements in Peru enquire about spending a few days in the rainforest on our conservation project. This project offers a unique chance to experience the rainforest environment and participate in important conservation activities. This project can only be done in combination with one of our other Peru projects.

We are now able to offer all Peru volunteers the opportunity to add a 7-day conservation project to the end of their main placement. These projects run from Saturday/Sunday to the following Saturday/Sunday, giving you a full week in the rainforest and the chance to become involved in a range of work.

7-Day Peru Conservation Project - Macaw Display

On arrival volunteers will be given a full introduction to the projects and local area and will spend the week working on the same schedule as regular and more experienced volunteers. Projects currently include wildlife observations from our viewing platform high in the jungle canopy, night observation walks along the extensive network of trails, plus work on our animal release programme and pilot farm scheme.

The cost of this programme includes food and accommodation for the week, insurance and boat transfers to and from Puerto Maldonado to the Taricaya Lodge.

Flights into and out of Puerto Maldonado are not included. Before buying flights or reserving a place in the rainforest it is important to contact us to check availability on the conservation project. Once you have been allocated a place it is a good idea to buy flights as soon as possible.
